This is my favourite restaurant in NSW 😍 I come here every time I visit Ballina/Byron ✈️ and it never disappoints. It’s always hard to choose because the menu has such delicious options 🥘 🍱 🥗 and the servings are big and the service is super friendly. The view is to die for 🏖️ 🪟
Awesome Fathers’ Day Breakfast - The Eggs Bennie (Bacon) x 4 were fantastic. The flavour of all elements, softness of the eggs and overall presentation were really excellent. A cafe with stunning views! It was very busy on a Sunday morning so would recommend booking. There is lots of seating indoors and they have sunshades to protect diners from direct sun while still allowing an outdoor feel. I enjoyed my corn and jalapeño fritters, it was flavoursome and generous. We were warned about the longer wait times on food and it arrived nearly an hour after we ordered. Coffee was also pretty good. Is a lovely place to soak in the view
Cafe overlooking beach with all weather dining. We went on a rainy day but still enjoyed the sea surrounds from our table at the back. The GF pana cotta with muesli berries and coconut yoghurt well worth the trip !
Staying in Ballina for 4 x nights, we were recommended to eat at the Shelley Beach Cafe. Such a lovely spot. Tues 6th Jan, three of us had breakfast, food was fantastic, lovely selection to choose from, nicely presented too. Table overlooking the ocean, service was so friendly and happy, very attentive too. Would not hesitate to recommend the cafe to anyone. Will definitely be back next time in Ballina.

We chose from the "lunch" menu (12-2pm) and thoroughly enjoyed our pesto prawn linguine, chicken piccata and followed up with cheesecake (shared) and coffee. The cheesecake was worth every calorie. :-) All wait staff were friendly and personable. Food quality was amazing. Thanks for such a great experience. A highlight of our holiday. No photos sorry-couldn't wait to dig in.
A fantastic spot for breakfast with some of the best views in the area. During whale season, you can often spot whales while enjoying your meal, which makes the experience even more special. The food is consistently excellent, and the staff are always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. It’s easy to see why this café is a favourite among both locals and visitors. Highly recommended for great coffee, quality food, and a beautiful coastal outlook.
We’ve visited for both breakfast and lunch, and all we can say is wow. From the delicious food and creative chefs to the beautiful views, every visit has been exceptional. The waitstaff are warm, attentive and genuinely friendly, and the owner is a wonderful host who makes everyone feel welcome. The café is spotless, the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the attention to detail shines through in every aspect of the experience. We truly can’t recommend Shelley Café highly enough. We’ll definitely be back and are officially Shelley Café fans for life! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
